Dr. Johannes Ospald
CEO
After completing his studies in economics and after the fall of the Iron Curtain, Johannes started his career as Co-founder & Managing Consultant Partner in Prague, Czech Republic. He followed multiple international companies with their market entry into the Central & Eastern European (CEE) markets, such as Volkswagen, OMV, Miele, Nestle, Coca Cola, REWE, Celesio Group and Generali.
In 2000, Johannes sold his company shares and joined Generali Holding Vienna, where he held various senior positions, including CMO for the CEE region. He was responsible for CRM, marketing and direct sales in 10 countries and created significant new business, cost efficiencies and numerous international best practices across Europe. He was also awarded in Brussels with the prestigious EURO EFFIE.
Since 2010, Johannes has been Co-founder & CEO at MOUNT ONYX.
Bernhard Grabner
CTO
Bernhard studied mathematics, physics and economics and is specialized on data driven analytics and digital marketing. In 2000 he started his career as the Head of online marketing of the international start up Time4Team, building the user base and community around a messenger service. In 2004 he founded the consultancy Kepler Solutions in Linz and became CEO, offering mainly market research and statistics services.
In 2010 Bernhard founded the digital agency Signal, focused on programmatic advertising, and took over the position of CEO.
Since 2019 Bernhard has been Co-founder of our InsurTech project “finsago” and in 2020 he took over the position of CTO in MOUNT ONYX, leading a team of internal and external IT, data science and AI experts.
Markus Aichinger
CIO
Markus completed his studies of business informatics, majoring in service engineering. He continued doing freelance work, later joining design consultancy Shamiyeh Associates and Kepler Solutions in Linz as lead IT consultant.
In 2010 Markus founded his own digital agency, building enterprise software solutions for data focused applications. Based on his involvement in large-scale opensource projects, he pivoted to increasingly technical roles in the domain of software architecture.
In 2020 he took over the position of CIO in MOUNT ONYX. This allows him to expand on his passion for performance-centric computation, augmenting established solutions with new approaches in systems engineering and AI, focusing on efficient data pipelines and machine learning architecture.
Patrick Birnzain
CDO
After his studies of informatics, Patrick started his career as software developer at Catalysts in Linz in 2015 and created custom software for startups and industry clients. In 2017 he founded digividual.at and offered consulting and software development, specifically for startups, worked with clients in diverse areas such as food delivery, aerial drone photography and insurance. He also co-founded and developed an innovative customer financial planning tool for financial advisors.
In 2018 he joined Siemens and developed web interfaces and cloud infrastructure for the core applications of the MindSphere industrial IoT platform.
In 2020 Patrick joined MOUNT ONYX and took over the position of CDO, responsible for machine learing, AI developments and external data sources.
Balázs Ofczianka
CMO
Balázs studied marketing & economics and received several certificates for marketing technology, business innovation and prompt engineering with ChatGPT. In 2005, he started his career in digital marketing. In 2010, Balázs founded his own digital agency, providing marketing consultancy for the SME sector and some major record labels. In 2015, he joined Erste Bank Hungary and in 2020 bank 99/ ING Direct Bank Austria as Head of Digital Marketing. Balázs was awarded with the Golden Effie, the Microsoft Innovation Award and Team of the Year Awards. In 2024, he took over the position of CMO in MOUNT ONYX.
Thomas Krennbauer
After completing his studies in economics, Thomas started his career with the Coca- Cola Company East Central Europe Division in Vienna, Austria, in 1991. During his 13-year tenure with the company, Thomas held various senior marketing and managing director positions across Northern as well as Central & Eastern Europe, among them CEO for Poland and Division Marketing Director for 8 Scandinavian & Baltic markets.
In 2004 Thomas joined Lindt & Sprüngli Austria where he held the position of CEO (including Poland). In 2012 Thomas took over the position of CEO in a portfolio company owned by Advent International, a leading, global Private Equity firm. Thomas restructured the company and accelerated the profitability of Bulgaria’s leading bottled water company and led the successful exit. Further, Thomas supported Advent International as industry advisor in several M&A projects. After the successful exit, Thomas stayed with the new owner, the Belgian Spadel Group, as a member of the Company’s Executive Committee.
Since 2020, he has been taken over the position of General Manager of CCHBC Switzerland at Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company.
Since 2010, he has also been Co-founder, Partner and member of the MOUNT ONYX Advisory Board.
Andreas Kößl
Andreas is holding a degree in business administration. Since 1997 he has made a career in UNIQA Insurance Group, a stock-listed international insurance group, which is one of the market leaders in 18 countries in CEE with its headquarters in Vienna.
He held various positions with UNIQA, as member of the Board of Directors of Non-Life Insurance in Austria, CEO in the Slovak company, CITO for the Group and Chairman of Supervisory Boards in several countries in Eastern Europe.
Currently Andreas is Managing Director and co-partner of Dolphin Technologies, an Insurtech company specialized in insurance telematics. He is founder of ANERDA Advisory and active as business angel.
Since 2023, Andreas has also been member of the MOUNT ONYX Advisory Board.
Barbara Baumgartner
Barbara moved from Austria to Dubai in 1997 where she was offered the position of head of family office for a Saudi family business conglomerate and was mainly in charge of asset management.
In 2003, she joined the FAI rent- a-jet AG as the local representative for the Middle East. When FAI opened its branch office in Dubai in 2011, Baumgartner became the Managing Director of the FAI rent-a- jet AG, DMCC Branch in Dubai. Under her leadership, the company grew to become the market leader for air ambulance in the Gulf Region.
Barbara is Investment Committee Member of Mindshift Capital Venture Capital Fund, an Investor and Advisor of WAIN Woman Angel Investor Network and Board Member of QiDZ. She is also investor in over 30 global companies in HealthTech, FinTech, and FoodTech industries.
Since 2022, Barbara has also been a member of the MOUNT ONYX Advisory Board.
Franz Amesberger
After his studies of information technology and economics, Franz started his career as Managing Consultant. In 1997 he became Associate Partner and Partner of Trust Consult in Vienna. At this time, he found the technology evaluation center CBI (Competence in Business Intelligence).
In 2006, Franz founded TCI Consult and became Managing Partner. With offices in Vienna, Frankfurt and London, TCI Consult is an independent technology management company providing evaluations and implementations of system landscapes with main experience in financial services and consumer goods. Franz is a dedicated author and member of the expert advisory committee of the journal BI Spectrum and Chairman of the Data Warehousing Institute in Austria, the premier international educational institute for business intelligence and data warehousing.
Since 2010, he has also been a member of the MOUNT ONYX Advisory Board and since 2019 also a Partner.
Roland Voggenauer
Roland holds a degree in mathematics from Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, and is a qualified actuary with both the German and the Swiss actuarial Societies, DAV and SAV. For the DAV he is a long-term member of the non-life committee and has been chairing the international non-life group of ASTIN for more than 15 years now.
He has held many senior positions in both re-insurance and primary insurance and was a partner for a “big-four” consulting company. His main expertise is in product development and portfolio management in casualty, with a heavy focus on motor insurance.
Alongside this, he is co-founder of one of the largest insurtechs globally, a digital MGA in Central America and a reinsurance carrier in Asia.
In 2024 Roland has been appointed to the MOUNT ONYX Advisory Board.
